In weekly zoom classes, I will share guided somatic meditations to explore internal and external perceptual process, play with ways of framing experience, and evoke creative perspectives on movement and the visual world. We then take this into a contemplative photography practice, and give you an assignment for the week to continue to explore embodied perception, attention, aesthetic framing and awareness.

You can post your photos to the Slack workspace anytime and share comments on each others’ work. (Slack is free to join but you will need to register for an account to join the class workspace.)

Zoom classes will be recorded in case you have to miss a session, and shared on the Slack workspace.

Themes will include:

-synchronizing mind, physical presence, camera and environment
-framing textural fields
-form & emptiness in somatic and visual perception
-surfaces of reflection and connection
-contents, story & relationship
-vibration & liveliness in matter

Requirements:
-You need a camera or phone with enough space for photos. It doesn’t have to be fancy! In fact, the simpler the better.
-At least 30 minutes a week to practice contemplative photography. This can happen anywhere, including inside your home.
-Logging into weekly zoom sessions. A little space to move or lie down during the sessions is helpful but not necessary.
-Sign up for Slack (it’s free) and join the class workspace. This is where we’ll share photos and comments, resources, and recordings of the weekly video calls.

Details for zoom and Slack will be sent out after registration.
