Are you looking for some more movement in your life?
These BodyMind Dancing™ (BMD) evening sessions are about slowing down, connecting to your weight and fluidity, sensing your inner landscape as a place of nourishment and rest. We use guided movement improvisation, rich imagery and invitations into a range of movement qualities.
Each class is unique, drawing on the basics of contemporary dance – explorations of weight, space, rhythm and intention in movement – with a focus on the experience of movement from the inside (rather than what it looks like from the outside).
Our dancing is supported by a focus on different body systems (for example bones, joints, fascia, organs) and ways of connecting to gravity, space and other people. Some classes include simple movement phrases to follow along, and you are always encouraged to adapt movement to your own abilities and capacity.
The benefits of dancing include increased circulation, body awareness, balance, and wellbeing, as well as refreshing the mind and creative thinking.
No previous experience necessary.
